The USsenal Wedding
The ideal of The USsenal Wedding originated from our favourite soccer team. Nevertheless, our favourite team is definitely Arsenal FC.
Alot of my friends asked me :''Why 'USsenal' and not 'Arsenal', was it a typo error'?
Well, the US in 'USsenal Wedding' stands for the 'two of US' as well as 'Unique & Significant' - which represented the feelings towards our relationship throughout these years.
Most importantly, it represented the club that we both loved so much since our dating days.
Arsenal - always Unique & Significant to the both of US. Cheers (''.)

The USsenal Wedding Food Tasting
Food tasting is generally known as an opportunity for couples and close families or friends to come together to have a preview of what's in store for guests at the wedding dinner. Well, for us, it served more than just that purpose. It was a timely gathering for families from both sides to meet and have a gorgeous meal and we all also got a little feel of how that special day would be like when we visited the ballroom. Although we cannot expect all the tables to serve equally good food , I would only expect everyone to be happy on a superb Saturday night, knowing that they are satisfied going home to rest over the next beautiful Sunday.
I believed on the minds of each individual then, we would have been thinking on the special role we are to play on that night. It would be a fun filled day and end with a night of merry making and endless toasting of wine and well wishes from friends and loved ones.
The day is coming and while there are some in preparation to go, here are some of the highlights of the wedding dinner dishes. Although they may look familiar , haha the taste especially for the fish is simply...out of this world. Lookout for the prawns and chicken also. The mango pudding is also worth mentioning. Last but not least, the peking duck is not on the menu. Imagine 40 skinless ducks in the kitchen.. Can't forget a suggestion to have a lucky draw and prizes are... you got it! Boxes of blissful Peking Duck Meat(w/o skin)!
Blissful pictures of both fortunate and blessed families
The Woo's Family
The Chua's Family
Phoenix Platter consisting of spring roll, drunken chicken, prawn salad, jelly fish and beancurd roll.
Braised Premier Moon-Cut Shark's Fin with crab meat and bamboo pith
Roast Crispy Chicken Flavourerd with Deep-Fried Garlic, shallots and fine-chopped chilli.
Soon Hock Steamed in " Traditional HongKong style"
Poached Live Prawns drizzled with Chinese Wine, served in Bamboo Basket with Lotus Leaf.
Braised Abalone Mushrooms with Spinach with Conpoy.
Wok-fired Ee- Fu noodles with Yellow Chives and Straw Mushrooms
Yam Paste with Gingko Nuts
Cocktail Mango Pudding

The USsenal Wedding 囍饼
We have decided to choose Tong Heng, one of the chosen Heritage shop in Singapore, at Chinatown for our relatives' 囍饼. Instead of opting for the usual 8-10 pieces mini cream cakes, mini cupcakes or even a whole fruit/butter cake, we are happy that we chose this shop for their delicious pastries. They have a wide variety of pastries for wedding cakes. The pastries here contained all the little memories we had during our Pak Tor days; especially during our CNY shopping yearly.
We still remembered that we never fail to stopover at this shop, just at the corner of Chinatown, after our CNY shopping there. We would definitely buy back the famous egg tarts as well as the Char siew pastries. At times, even adding on a few Gai Dan Gou for our old folks at home. They simply loved it tonnes.
Take a look at our USsenal Wedding 囍饼 :
Simply irresistable!!!Which are the ones you would like to receive in your box of wedding cakes? hehe

The USsenal Wedding Invitation Card
Despite the rain and the bad weather, we managed to make it to Peninsula Shopping Centre for the confirmation of our invitation card printing. (''.)
Choosing the wedding invitation card was not an easy feat! After filtering all the designs that had never crossed my mind, our IDEAL invitation card finally appeared. We knew that we wanted our card to be different. We wanted something 'OUT OF THE BOX' and THERE IT WAS... ... the 'GIFTBOX' invitation card. The ONE & ONLY Present-like invitation in the entire file, placed infront of the both of us. (Open up the invitation and it will be like opening up a present) *wink*
We fell in love with it the instant we saw it. Hopefully, it will bring the same feeling of happiness to whoever will be receiving it.
Cheers ^^

The USsenal Currency
We are so happy to chance upon this note that bears the date of our wedding on it. It not only contains the actual date of our wedding, it also has the Chinese lunar date as well. It is definitely one of the best gifts that we could ever wished for our wedding. Glad that we got it out of so many millions & billions of notes outta there.
FYI, The USsenal wedding date is officially on the 16th July (1607) and the Chinese lunar date is 六月,初十六; in short 0616.Now, can you see the numbers on the note bearing The USsenal Wedding date??? hehe

Flowergirl's attire
Our little niece, Jocelyn in her flowergirl's attire. We still remembered the day when we brought her to OG to pick her little gown. Her eyes were filled with sparkles and as she chose her accessories to match her gown, she definitely doesn't lose to a bride-to-be. Haha
Guess what!!!She even got a veil with a pretty floral band to match her gown. Not forgetting a pair of lovely white shoes and stockings too.
Even little preparation like this meant heapsss to our wedding.WHY???Even the liitle ones are joining in, to help us prepare for our BIG, joyous day. hehe Really looking forward to the BIG day when the liitle ones will be FULLY dressed. Nice! ^^
Cheers (''.)

Wedding Customs?
Customs definitely play a big part in defining in what's called a a chinese wedding ceremony. Some are interesting while some have raised some funny questions..
1) Exchange of birth dates and family tree.
Well, I believe this is more for the olden days where couples were decided when they were a child and long before they may have met each other. Thus, families could only count on such methods to make the, supposedly best choices possible for their children.
2) Gifts to the bride's family.
Some tradition still require livestock. LOL.. imagine me bringing a Sri Lankan crab to Woo's Villa..
3) Setting up the bridal bed
More to changing the linen will do...
4) Bride's gifts to the groom?
Havent really heard of this yet
5) Combing hair
Yes.. yes.. for the bride exclusively...
6) Picking up the bride on wedding's day and tea drinking ceremony
This represents a gladiator's test of wits and determination and of course, filled with a lot of fun. Handsome Shrek to the rescue!! Followed by would be the tea drinking ceremony.
7) Bride leaving home
Don't forget the red umbrella
8) Bride arriving at groom's home
Tea ceremony. Why are there no games for Fiona to rescue Shrek??
9) Church wedding
To get married in the grand old Glory Church has been a long life dream, especially taking a big family picture on the grand staircase!
10) Wedding banquet
Ang Pow time and some yam sengs. Soak in after a day of fun filled event with good food beloved friends and loved ones. A thank you speech to our beloved parents and also a chance to finally walk up the stage with Jing and offer a toast to everyone! Finally!
11) Sleep....zzzzzzz
